Dr. Yafan Huang to speak at the 8th Plant Genomics & Gene Editing Congress

Performance Plants

The virtual 8th Plant Genomics & Gene Editing Congress is co-located with the: 5th Partnerships in Biocontrol & Biostimulants and the Microbiome for Agriculture Congress, taking place on March 3rd & 4th.

Global Engage is pleased to announce the co-located 8th Plant Genomics & Gene Editing Congress: USA, 5th Partnerships in Biocontrol & Biostimulants Congress: USA and the Microbiome for Agriculture Congress: USA, taking place March 3-4 2021.

Dr. Yafan Huang, President and CSO, Performance Plants, is a confirmed speaker under the Plant Genomics & Gene Editing congress. This congress will explore novel strategies and developments in plant genomics and gene editing through a series of case studies and an examination of the latest scientific research. Leaders from academia and industry will consider recent advances in developing and harnessing CRISPR technologies for precise genome modification and crop improvement, and an expert panel discussion will examine the latest updates in genome editing policy and regulation.

Dr. Huang will speak about the development and commercialization of high performance crops through genetic engineering at yield determining developmental stages:

  • Defining environmental and genetic factors that are critical for crop yield
  • Identification and functional analysis of gene targets that have positive impacts on determining crop yield and productivity
  • Validation and advancement of promising gene leads in staple crops through large scale field tests for product commercialization
